Kristen 52 Long Range Explorer Pilothouse
Designed by renowned naval architect Greg Marshall and stoutly built of steel by Canadian builder Kristen Yachts Vahevala is a true explorer class yacht in the spirit of Nordhavn and few others. Extremely well cared for she is a blue water ship that is easily handled by a cruising couple and with fuel consumption of under 2.7 gallons per hour at 7MPH cruising speed she has a range of over 2000 miles.
Hull sides painted with AwlCraft 2025, house painted Awlgrip 2021, bottom blasted, 5 coats InterProtect and 4 coats Trinidad Pro 2017, 2 more coats in 2023. Cherry joinery throughout, cherry sole galley and heads, 2021 Nautik simulated teak/holly sole throughout salon and staterooms with sound reducing underlay and a nonslip wood grain texture.
Walk-in stand up engine/systems room; extensive heavy duty hydraulic ships systems includes stabilizers, lift crane and bow & stern thrusters with redundant power takeoff from main engine and generator; hydraulic auxiliary (homer) drive w/separate shaft/prop from generator.
Features: 1KW solar, 600Ah batteries, diesel heating, air conditioning, Highfield CL-310 hypalon tender w/15HP Tohatsu, new granite galley counter tops etc.

Master Stateroom:
Private entrance from salon through curved cherry staircase leads to 10'x15' master stateroom with walk around queen berth, bedside table, desk with bookcase, shelving, 2 large hanging lockers with interior shelving, 4 large drawers. The head features a separate vanity area with sink and medicine cabinet, 3/4 tub/shower and Raritan Atlantes macerating toilet. New LED lighting. 6 port windows allow for good air flow, as well as vents for AC and heat.

Northern Lights M844K generator has 1650 hours. Stern thruster Side-Power SP 240 TCI twin propeller with controls at both stations. 4 x Kyocera KU260-6MCA 260W solar panels, 1KW total. Outback FlexMax 80 solar charge controller and Outback Mate-2 remote display. 50A Marinco shore power (2022); connector on each side of the house; spare shore power cables, with lots of adapters and splitters. Black water hoses replaced 2024. Balmar 250 amp alternator (2025) for house batteries, controlled by a Balmar MC618 external programmable regulator (2024) with read out at upper helm so you always have information on your state of charge while underway. Every hydraulic line was replaced in February 2018, system professionally serviced, lines removed and flushed, fluid and filters changed (2022). Generator has an Eaton power take-off (hydraulic pump) that powers any and all hydraulic equipment, separately and in tandem with the main engine's power take-off. Generator and its power take-off also power a hydraulic motor that turns a 17" diameter Max-Prop in case the main engine is not available. The combination will move the boat, although slowly. Oil change pump for main engine and generator. Built-in system to flush air conditioning units' cooling circuit with Barnacle Buster or similar. Hurricane hydronic diesel heater with heat vents in each cabin, the galley, and the salon.

ZF Marine IRM311A transmission. 30 x 28 bronze 4-blade propeller; painted with prop speed 2025. 17” diameter Max-Prop folding propeller powered by the generator's power take-off. 6' 1" person can stand fully upright in the engine room where the workbench and built-in Craftsman tool chests. Dedicated 24V battery bank (2 x 12V) for main engine starting. 24V alternator for the starting batteries. The main engine has a Rexroth (2022) power take-off hydraulic pump that provides power for the stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters, windlass and tender crane. The generator also has a power take-off that is enabled with an electric clutch, so it draws power only when you need it. Dripless shaft seal (2023) main engine and generator (2024) shaft for get home prop. Racor 1000FG filter for the main engine; Racor 500FG for the generator; Racor 1000FG for the fuel polishing system that allows you to move fuel from any tank to any tank.
