Hanse 400e

“Adventure” is a 2009 Hanse 400e (Hull #447). The “e” refers to the vacuum bagged composite/epoxy hull which is 900 lbs lighter and more dense than the standard Hanse 400 foam core/fiberglass construction.  She is a fast, fun boat perfect for club racing and coastal cruising. This boat combines Hanse's easy handling self tacking jib system for cruising with secondary jib leads for higher performance sails.  The interior is amazingly open and bright.  10 opening ports for lots of ventilation. Adventure was featured in the March 2009 edition of Cruising World.

Adventure has been well maintained by her original owner at Liberty Landing Marina in NJ and sailed seasonally from the Chesapeake to Maine.  Her hull is inspected every season with zincs replaced and bottom paint updated as required.  In the winter the sails are cleaned an maintained by Doyle sails.   She is just completing a year long cruise from NJ to Canada to the Bahamas and back to NJ.  She is viewable now by appointmenet in the Chesapeake Bay and after July 4th at Wright Island Marina, NY. The current owner is USCG 25ton Master, an ASA sailing instructor, and available to assist with transport to her new home port.

2024: Mast pulled & standing rigging inspected and replaced where required by Maine Yacht Rigging; New Doyle Mainsail with custom 3rd reef point; Doyle stack pack refurbished; New custom dodger by Pattino Canvas, new main sheet, halyard, & outhaul, new Isotherm water heater, new house batteries 12v 520AH, New Mastervolt Inverter/charger and 200w solar

2023: Bottom sanded, new barrier coat, and 2 coats Neptune HRT ablative, New engine start batery, Autopilot rebuilt

2022: New Yanmar SD60 saildrive installed
